Testing of Common Rail injectors

Flow diagram (-)

With injector testers

  • types DET 062 and DET 063, measuring range 0...600 bar
  • the CREIS 01 electronic injector control system
  • and the CREL XX electronic power section (depending on the injector manufacturer)

Common Rail injectors can be function tested in removed condition for faults such as dribbling, pressure loss, etc. At the same time, the return flow volume can be measured with the CRRMK 01 Common Rail return flow tester. Can be used with the injectors of every manufacturer with the aid of replaceable adapters.

Electronic injector control

CREIS 01_12 (042401_1)

The CREIS 01 electronic injector control unit serves to control all the CREL_XXX units listed below (see flow diagram) -  irrespective of the injector type and manufacturer.
The duration of the injection process can be chosen between 200 µs and 1000 µs in 50 µs stages. It is also possible to choose between continuous and single injection modes.

  • automatic recognition of minimum operating voltage
  • the injection process can be broken off by means of the stop button
  • visual indicator activated when a control signal is being sent
  • power supply, 12 V/DC

Electronic power section for Common Rail injectors

CREL_XXXX (...)

Electronic power section for different Common Rail injectors based on the principle of the solenoid valve or piezo valve. The power section is fitted with an electrical connection to fit the injector. It generates suitable electrical signals specifically for this type of injector and in the form produced by the injector control unit in the vehicle.

Control functions are performed by a CREIS 01_12
(duration of the injection process, start, stop, control signal and fault display).

Different versions, depending on the injector manufacturer, are available:

  • CREL_BOSCH_M01 (042402_1), solenoid valve
  • CREL_BOSCH_INDUSTRIAL_M01 (042402_2), solenoid valve
  • CREL_DELPHI_M01 (042403_1), solenoid valve
  • CREL_DENSO_M01 (042404_1), solenoid valve
  • CREL_BOSCH_P01 (042406_1) piezo valve
  • CREL_VDO_P01 (042407_1) piezo valve

Tester for testing petrol and diesel fuel injectors

DET 06 (041255)

Tester for testing petrol and diesel fuel injectors for:

  • nozzle opening pressure (N.O.P), spray pattern and leaks
  • measuring ranges 0...400 (600)bar / 0...5800 (8700 psi)

Special design in aluminium with baseplate; precision pressure gauge
made of V steel DS 100, with protective rubber cap; splashproof liquid container (330 cm3) made of plexiglas. The advantage of this tester is that the pump lever can be transferred to the front socket to facilitate pumping (volume per stroke 35 cm³). The drag pointer of DET 061 and DET 063 type testers registers the injection pressure and stays in that position. As a result, it is not necessary to observe the injector spray pattern and the pressure gauge at the same time.

Available adapters for injection testers DET 06..

  • DETA (041257) standard adapter (M 14x1.5)
  • DETA 01 (041254) Opel, motortype DTL + DTH (M 17x0,75 with closed cone)
  • DETA 02 (041256) VW/Audi, motortype TDI (M 12x1.25)

Note: All makes of common rail injector can be tested for leaks (drips, loss of pressure, etc.) with the testers types DET 062 and DET 063 (test range 0...600 bar).

Tester for testing of petrol and Diesel fuel injectors

DET 400, DET 600 (041230_1, 041231_1)

Workshop tester made of steel, for testing of

  • nozzle opening pressure (N.O.P.)
  • spray pattern
  • leaks
  • measuring ranges 0...400 (600) bar / 0...5800 (8700) psi
  • detachable pump lever

Precision pressure gauge made of V steel DS 100, with protective rubber cap, splashproof plexiglas container for the protection of the environment. Doublescale bar/psi. Two connecting lines with threaded connectors M 12x1.5 and M 14x1.5, swept volume 25 cm³.

Shut off and control unit

DETAVV (041259_1)

The shut off and control unit DETAVV will be installed between the testing device and the pressure gauge. The integrated shut off valve isolates the pressure gauge. The opening pressure of the valve can be regulated through a volume controller.

The shut off valve can also be ordered separately.
